Baanto Announces ShadowSense-Based Touchscreen Family for Digital Signage

Products target interactive digital signage and digital out-of-home markets.

Baanto International Ltd., a leading independent manufacturer of touchscreen technologies, announced the release of large-format ShadowSense-based products targeting the interactive digital signage and digital out-of-home markets.

The family will launch with models matched to market requirements, including: 32-, 40-, 42-, 46-, 47-, 50-, 55-, 60-, 65-, 70-, 80- and 85-inch panels. All of the products are designed to support the standard TFT LCD sizes currently available in the market and being used in commercial applications. Cost-effective and featuring advanced ShadowSense Performance Features or SPF including:

  • SPF SnapCount: Real-time tracking of up to six touchpoints without slowing down the user application;
  • SPF SizeAlert: Real-time touchpoint size calculation allows developers to create new and innovative use models as well as implement palm and spurious touch rejection;
  • SPF RealTouch: Responds to any IR touch object, eliminating the need for bare finger touching or special styli or gloves; and
  • SPF-10K: Provides immunity to ambient light of up to 10,000 foot-candles, roughly equal to being outdoors at noon on the equator.
