David Kahn’s career has been dedicated to driving top-line growth for narrowcast media brands – both online and offline – through strategic and revenue-generating partnerships. He has spent considerable time applying this experience in start-up and turn-around situations.

Before joining The Wall Street Journal Office Network as Senior Vice President – Sales, he advised and managed the growth of online advertising revenue for media companies including Disney (NYSE: DIS) and IAC/InterActive Corp (NASDAQ: IACI). His assignment at Disney focused on structuring and managing the advertising sales operation for IdealBite.com, a newly acquired eco-focused online business. At IAC, Kahn joined ServiceMagic.com -- the nation’s leading online marketplace matching homeowners with contractors -- where he helped build an advertising revenue stream from scratch in a lead-generation focused company.

He has succeeded in a number of dynamic offline media companies including The New Yorker, where he served as Publisher, leading the magazine past $100 million in annual revenue for the first time in its 75 year history. Other print media turn-arounds included Latina magazine (Solera Capital) and Country Home (Meredith Corporation). New brand/business launches include Worth in the personal finance category, Saveur in the epicurean field, and Crain’s New York Business. In each of these situations, he focused his entrepreneurial spirit to drive these businesses forward through strategic positioning, focused advertising sales leadership and disciplined financial management.

Kahn earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where he served on the Kellogg Alumni Advisory Board. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from The University of Illinois at Champaign. Kahn was selected as one of Crain’s New York Businesses, ’40 Under 40: Executives to Watch’ and he currently resides in Larchmont, New York ,with his wife and two children.
