In this five-minute video from DSE 2012, Alex Wang, president and chief technology officer of DynaSign ,explains that in his 10 years, the company has sought to make itself an all-in-one solutions system for businesses interested in digital signage.

One of the biggest surprises about digital signage, Wang says, is that its growth isn't as rapid as expected for this time a decade ago. Whether that has to do with a weak overall economy, or just the fact it's still early in the industry's still-young life cycle, it's yet to be said.

But Wang says it could prove valuable for companies to improve business processes for other firms and not just sell themselves as application and solutions providers.

Wang also says that he thinks the industry is moving towards mobile, tablets and smart television — which he said would have an "interesting impact" on digital signage in the next three to five years.
