As the new President of Scentsa Media Networks and The Barnes & Noble Digital Media Network, Papish is responsible for overseeing the largest network of its kind in the country. With nearly 1100 screens in 400 Universities, Papish has unprecedented reach and access into 5 million laser targeted and digitally connected 18-29 year-old young adults. Papish will fully embrace this valuable demographic with the integration of digital interactivity, dynamic displays, and experiential technology into client brand campaigns.
Prior to Scentsa, Papish was President and CEO of media/commerce/technology company Cinsay, Inc. At Cinsay, Papish helped raise multi millions of dollars from private equity and institutional investors, orchestrated significant partnerships and assembled a notable list of clients such as Caesers Entertainment, Chevron/Texaco, The Military Shopping Channel, Thomas Kinkade, The American Outdoorsman, Chicken Soup for the Soul, International Management Group (IMG), Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Montel Williams to name a few.
Under his leadership Papish grew the business from a technology start-up to an acclaimed Digital Media/Commerce company. His responsibilities included directing the company vision, fundraising and business development and had corporate oversight of all media, technology and consumer product businesses. Papish was responsible for managing a large team of engineers, marketers, designers, merchandisers, content creators, financiers, vendors, agencies, manufacturers and distribution partners. He assembled a world-class Board comprised of business and thought-leaders in media, retail, government, licensing and sports.
Earlier, Papish headed the newly formed Branded Entertainment division at AOL where he forged important partnerships and developed digital strategies for top AOL clients such as P&G, Sears and Ebay. At AOL Papish played a key role in orchestrating Network Live, a joint venture between AOL, XM Radio and AEG, which married brand sponsors with world-class musical performances further strengthening the company’s position in online video advertising, content creation and distribution.
Prior to AOL, he served as EVP of Media and Entertainment Partnerships for Live Universe Inc. and BroadWeb Asia (BWBA) where he oversaw the business operations and digital revenue strategy for an international portfolio of web brands, which reached an audience of more than 50 million unique monthly visitors.
In 2001, Papish became founder and CEO of Pipeline Entertainment, where he developed innovative cross-platform partnerships with companies such as MySpace, IAC and Excite@Home. He also executive produced and oversaw 1,400 hours of broadcast and film programming including Blind Date ($140 million franchise), The Fifth Wheel, Classmates.com TV and Legally Blondes, presented by Reese Witherspoon and the third movie in the popular franchise.
Papish served as Chief Business Adviser to the Philanthropy Project, a nonprofit initiative funded by the John Templeton Foundation to produce and provide visual content to encourage online citizens to become philanthropists.
