With Digital Signage Expo 2016 just around the corner, companies from around the globe are itching to showcase their most recent technological advancements. Technology has already brought society to many new heights in the 21st century, and the future is shaping up to look even brighter as the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes a reality and smart cities or “connected” cities follow, allowing for all kinds of out-of-home advertising opportunities.
This is exactly the topic of a new seminar at Digital Signage Expo entitled “Out-of-Home Advertising in the Connected City,” which takes place on Wednesday, March 16 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room N261 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The panel of digital signage professionals assembling for this session will include:
- David Etherington, executive vice president and chief strategy officer, Titan;
- David Krupp, CEO, Kinetic U.S.;
- Stephen Freitas, CMO, Outdoor Advertising Association of America;
- Ian Dallimore, director of innovation and digital strategy, Lamar Advertising; and
- Mikhail Damiani, CEO, Blue Bite
“Advertisers will be at the forefront of smart city adoption as ad-supported technological advancements bring greater value to municipalities and citizens at no cost, while creating new efficiencies throughout the marketplace,” said Kinetic U.S. CEO David Krupp. “Brands will likely formulate multiple avenues to deploy smart city services. This will include real time optimization of messaging, integration of brand sponsored activities and infrastructure options in design and build. There will be, as well, corporate opportunity to provide cities with better data to plan and modernize their systems; from Nest providing real time HVAC insights to better plan energy usage to Waze feeding consumer-generated traffic patterns back to cities to plan their emergency vehicle response or advise local broadcast networks on traffic and road conditions (without the need for a helicopter.) There is no better media than OOH to support smart city design, build out and adoption as many of the changes will occur where consumers are on the move. Combined with mobile, the opportunity will exist to communicate to one consumer or to the community in one engagement.”
Registration for “Out-of-Home Advertising in the Connected City” or any of the DSE 2016 educational conference seminars, which are sponsored by Broadsign International and are eligible for Digital Signage Expert Group certification renewal credits, is available online at www.dse2016.com.
