Wolf Karbe Joins Digital Place-based Advertising Association Board

Karbe is senior vice president and chief financial officer at Show Media.

The Digital Place-based Advertising Association announced today that Wolf Karbe, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Show Media, has joined the organization's board of directors. Show Media provides its brand partners with unique transportation-based campaigns that generate maximum exposure and help foster an emotional connection between the brand and the target consumer.

Susan Danaher, president and CEO of the DPAA, said, "Wolf is a very strong and complementary addition to our board. We look forward to benefitting from his unique blend of expertise that includes a deep understanding of the financial arena in this space as well as a global perspective on the sector."

At Show Media, Karbe is responsible for all aspects of the fiscal condition of the company, ranging from overseeing day-to-day financial matters, to business development and M&A activities and charting the company's financial strategies. He also has been heavily involved in the development and success of Show Media's digital tablet network.

Before joining Show Media, Karbe was treasurer and vice president financial planning at Titan Outdoor, the largest privately held outdoor advertising company in the U.S. At Titan, Karbe was instrumental in closing two financing rounds, securing financing from GE Capital, Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas and Welsh Carson Anderson and Stowe. He also played a key role in all business development and M&A activities, including the divestiture of Titan U.K. to JCDecaux, and the acquisition of the Verizon Phone Kiosk plant in New York City. Previous to Titan, Karbe led international acquisitions at First Data Corporation/Western Union. Based in New York and London, he was heavily involved in First Data's European expansion.

Karbe holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Wuppertal, Germany, a Master of Science in engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and a Master of Business Administration from the Simon School of Business, Rochester, N.Y. He is a U.S. and German citizen and lived in Europe and Africa before moving to the U.S. in 2002.
