It would be pretty cool if a screen could recognize the person viewing it – or standing near it – and adapt its message to the individual. If a screen could identify the employee by facial recognition, it could provide messages that address that employee’s specific interests. Is it a new employee who has just joined the company? Messages could include announcements about new-employee events and programs. Is it a long-time employee who is nearing retirement age? Up could flash a promotion for the retirement-planning workshop.
Companies would have to be uber-careful not to show discrimination in any way.All employees might be interested in stock-market investments as well as the softball league. But the tailoring of messages for the individual could be powerful communication. But wait, isn’t this possible already?
