A Holodeck! And for the millennials out there who are too young to remember Star Trek: The Next Generation, a holodeck is true VR (no goggles) with a full sensory experience (sight, sound, smell, touch and taste).
The way in which this technology can be best utilized commercially would be for advertising. I think about some of the clubs or restaurants that advertise at the airport and I can imagine exposing passengers (walking through a designated area) to a brief sense of what it is like to be in the restaurant (the ambiance, the smell as they bring you a signature dish, etc.) or what a day club environment is like (feel the bass vibrate your chest or the sudden splash of water on your face, perhaps the subtle smell of chlorine or the taste of the house cocktail)….
