If you could magically ask the digital signage industry for anything at all, some new innovation that would dazzle and amaze your clients and peers, what would it be?”


For the digital signage industry to magically dazzle and amaze us, our peers and our clients, it would have to be very special. To start, dazzle and amaze clients and peers is the minimum that should be expected from any digital signage package, with a caveat. Any system still requires the creative design team designing the program and content that can create such dazzling and creative experiences. Generally, I am operating on the back end as physical designer, integrator, installer, flip-the-switcher; and it would be awesome to see a system that is self-healing, always up, self-updating, auto-correcting and do what I am thinking at an affordable price. This might be asking a lot, but if you work through what a system does, it’s not overly impossible. We all needs systems that can easily integrate both hardware and software with update and alerts of issues, create sophisticated content and imaging that is displayable at any time, easy to maintain and support even from remote locations, only contacts me when there is a problem and able to grow with the user and help down the road. There is a lot we expect these days with the advent of smart devices. We expect no less from our digital signage systems,

As our annual County Fair comes to a close, we reflect on the changes we should have made and the ones we will for next year. With about 100,000 people every day during the last week, it really puts the pressure on the systems, and we really get a chance to see performance under load. The systems held up, and IT had a successful Fair. The same has to be true for the digital signage we use.  See you next year at the Fair, enjoying something very deeply fried!
