In the public sector, most of our content is informational and functional, so I will answer this with my thoughts as a consumer. With our current level of technology, the content creators can work almost unrestricted. The resolution, speed and contrast allow for any application. That being said, it is not required that the creators use all of the abilities of the system. Take a Mc-Menu board for example. The images are awesome. You can almost smell and taste the food, but the images keep changing so trying to read the menu will require total concentration. The same goes for digital billboards. You’re going 65 miles per hour, and the message is maybe 10 seconds of time (while still keeping my eyes on the road). I might be able to read six words. Extreme content is great, but I will not know what the intent was. My advice to the industry: If it works better clean, keep it clean.
