With so many flat-panel display options now on the market, what is the best approach to making the best choice for a project?

Because there are so many choices for solutions regarding flat panel displays, it’s comforting to know that no matter what your challenge, you will find the right formula for success.

First and foremost, one has to understand the scope of the project, the project particulars and the message you want to convey.  Is your project indoors or outdoors?  How much traffic are you expecting?  What is the size of the space you’re working with, and how long do you expect the display to operate?  These are just a few details one must consider when installing flat panel displays.

We at Eileen Fisher use digital signage as a permanent fixture in 99 percent of our locations.  Because these are all interior spaces, our needs are not quite as challenging as other, more elaborate venues.

We will take a look at the space, its size and proportions as well as lighting, electric, Internet infrastructure, etc.  Our choice in display will always reflect how it fits into the environment.  It should be as green as possible, unobtrusive and always attractive.  We usually go with zero bezel LED displays that are around the 55-inch range.  While it’s important to us that we always display current, meaningful content, it is also important that it be done passively. The display should be organic to the space and not detract from it.

Installing digital displays requires preplanning, an understanding of the space and an understanding of the message to be delivered.  This knowledge along with the surplus of flat panel solutions can help make your digital signage projects virtually trouble-free.
