What was the biggest takeaway from Digital Signage Expo 2017 that you’ve been able to use in the months since the show?”
My biggest takeaway came from the LG Booth. I was extremely pleased to see how much design innovation they are putting into their product. It was a breath of fresh air to see the many applications of their technology. They have taken what is normally a monitor hung on a wall to a completely new level. Shapes, curves, movement and size all come together for some of the most beautiful product displays I have seen in a long time. As a matter of fact, LG is coming to our office in the near future to show their product off. I brought this up at our Advisory Board lunch. Other than LG, I did not see or feel any attempt to bring design to the show. I feel this is a huge missed opportunity. This can be done in various ways including collaborations and involving design students. It is always refreshing to see a new way of thinking or using an existing product, and students are a great way to accomplish. It is a win-win for all parties.
