What do you value most about Digital Signage Expo (DSE), and why do you come back every year and recommend that your peers return as well?”

I value my time at DSE not only because it is an opportunity for me to connect with the latest technologies in digital signage, sure, but it’s also an opportunity for informal conversations directly with those actually creating the technology so that I can get better insight into the scalability of the solutions as well as their future roadmap. In a way, you can stitch together a picture of what DSE will be a year or two in the future by connecting directly with the heavyweights in the industry, as well as the more unknown and nimble innovators that provide the “connective tissue” for the industry. There is often a story “behind the brochure” and those willing to take the time to walk the floor and talk to the exhibitors and reps will get the true inside landscape of this growing and increasingly relevant industry.

I expect that, as we add more elements of the broader digital picture to future conferences (the Internet of Things, content management and production, personalization, beacons and sensors, analytics, virtual and mixed reality, motion design, etc.), the conference will continue to expand in value.

I go every year for a few reasons, some of them mentioned above. It’s also a personal mission of mine to visit Las Vegas at least once a year, and DSE is in the perfect location! Another is that it’s a place to reconnect to industry talent and contacts that I may interact with only once or twice a year—most often at DSE itself.
