What tips would you give to first-time attendees at Digital Signage Expo?”

I would suggest a few tips for a first-time attendee to the Digital Signage Expo. First, planning is key. Six years ago, when I attended my first DSE, it was a last-minute decision created by an unplanned knowledge gap in our organization after completing a major signage project. Selecting sessions was straightforward, but navigating the show floor as a newbie was overwhelming. You should use the same methodology when planning your show floor route as selecting a session. DSE provides exceptional tools like the mobile app and a searchable exhibitor list function on the conference website. The vendors are also searchable by type, from Analytics to Video Walls, to help you identify and narrow down the overwhelming number of exhibitors. Each vendor then provides a list of products and services. Most provide opportunity to reach out and set an appointment directly. Plan ahead using these tools, and the online show floor map to contact the vendors and provide direction for where to go in advance. Second, bring a water bottle and stay hydrated. My daily “step-count” triples at DSE, and while water is plentifully available, having something to carry it around in helps. Finally, be prepared to be overwhelmed. The technology on display is amazing. Save some time to explore. That and planning will help ensure a valuable Digital Signage Expo experience!
