What tips would you give to first- time attendees at Digital Signage Expo?”
There is a lot to see and attend at DSE, and it can be overwhelming, especially if you’re not sure what to look at and who to listen to in terms of speakers. With that in mind, here are a few tips that I hope may be helpful:
- Don’t focus on the hardware. There is a lot of amazing technology at DSE, and while important, it is only important in the sense of accomplishing your goal using digital signage. Focus instead on your end goal, what you want to accomplish and how you want to get there. Find out what capabilities are in of the content management software packages to ensure a proper fit. Then fit the hardware to your requirements.
- Don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to peers, industry experts or the DSE staff. I’ve always found amazing support, and people are always willing to lend an ear or hand. If you feel overwhelmed, ask for guidance at the DSE booth.
- Don’t sit back and just listen. Engage and interact. This is the same as the previous point. You can gain so much valuable input from others who have run through the same problems you have. Without the seminars, the Expo isn’t nearly as valuable.
- Don’t forget to visit the Innovation corner. I’ve always seen something new there from small vendors and manufacturers that may not be mainstream now, but could have major impact in a short while, or that may just fit what you want to do to differentiate your digital signage network from others.
