What tips would you give to first-time attendees at Digital Signage Expo?”

My advice is to think of DSE like a great buffet and each exhibitor like a food station. You are going to walk in very hungry, and your first instinct might be to stay and eat at the salad bar because they have things you have never seen before. If you walk the whole floor first, you will see that everywhere there will have things that amaze you. So, before you go, download the app and review the attending vendors.  Click on some of the links (think of it like reading the menu), and plot out some of the booths you are interested in. When you arrive, visit the booths and take quick notes to help you remember to find the contacts and products later.

All of this will need to be planned between the exciting sessions for that deeper dive into what you are interested in. Plug all of the sessions that you are going to into your phone so it can vibrate when you need to go to class (you will not hear it ring on the expo floor).

As with any buffet, make sure to talk to the exhibitors that are not in your current line of business, because I live by the motto “you don’t know what you don’t know,” and if you don’t know what it is, then how do you know you don’t need it? Talk to everyone, network, make new friends and have FUN!

Side note: I still do not like Brussels sprouts, but I keep on trying them at the buffet.
