What improvements have you seen in hardware that have made it easier to install, operate and maintain displays in outdoor locations?”

Advancements in technology are making our lives easier and more efficient every day.  When it comes to outdoor digital signage, this is also the case. One of the most relevant advances in outdoor digital displays is “High Bright” technology. This combination of features allows outdoor and semi-outdoor digital signage to be visible, readable and compelling even under the most unforgiving environmental conditions. These units can provide up to 2,500 nits (units of visible-light intensity), making color contrast and brightness visible in daylight. Additionally, LED tiles can be arranged in almost any fashion, breaking free from the rectangular frame we all know so well.  Because the tiles are relatively small, they can be fitted on curved surfaces, etc. Lastly, outdoor displays have become more resilient to cold, extreme heat and rain. Display cases have become more durable to battle these natural elements, all while using less power and increasing cost effectiveness.  While the display itself may need changing every five years or so, new outdoor display enclosures can last up to 25 years. As advancements in digital signage progress, so does the reliability of outdoor signage, making outdoor advertising more attractive to businesses.
