Ask the Board – October 10, 2016 | ADRIAN WEIDMANN

What are the characteristics of a quality Content Management System (CMS)?

It is far more important and valuable to understand and determine the quality of the entire organization and history behind the actual CMS product. There are many CMS platforms that are sound and reliable to address a broad variety of requirements and complexities. The most valuable characteristics are the values that drive the various companies. As a buyer, you will be bound to this organization for years to come. Ask a few simple questions:

  • Can I trust this company to have my best interest in mind for the next five to seven years?
  • Can I trust the management team based on historic insights?
  • Does this organization represent and define ‘quality’?

If the answers to these questions don’t pass your ‘gut check,’ I strongly advise you to pay attention.
