What are your top three takeaways from a digital signage overhaul?

Objectives, objectives, objectives. Everyone wants to upgrade their network before it reaches the end of a useful life. The problem becomes wanting all the shiny new toys and not thinking about what the objective of the overhaul is. We are in the process of overhauling our internal network, which was admittedly put together with paper clips and rubber bands. Before we started, we thought about our objectives: What did we want to solve with the upgrade? What were we hoping our eventual outcome would be? In our case, the initial objective was to be able to push content more efficiently across the network, but to do that, we needed an upgrade to our CMS system. Actually, we didn’t really have a CMS system. So you can guess how our objective changed to first identifying a CMS that we could afford that provided us with the functionality we were looking for. Once we settled on our objectives, we got down to work. We hope to roll out our improved network in Q4.
