Ask the Board – April 9, 2018 | RANDY POINDEXTER

“What differentiates an exemplary digital signage installation from environmental noise?”

An exemplary message on a digital sign will “stand out” vs. becoming lost in the environment, and this challenge is best executed with clever and creative content that is “bold” and animated vs. static with sub-par graphics (as many digital highway signs can be).

Making sure that there is quality animation and large, easy-to-see high-resolution video assets that are eye catching (without being annoying) will do the job and avoid being “overlooked” as part of the landscape. We’ve all seen those digital menu boards or reader boards, where the font is hard to read and the images are low resolution with little or no animation.
