“Are there any new technical capabilities in hardware and/or software opening up new creative options for content playback, design, or interactivity? How are they being applied? How well are they being applied?”
I’m excited to see the evolution of integrating existing technologies to make “smarter” digital experiences: indoor location technology, advanced analytics, camera tracking, external data sources – all working together to provide more adaptive, personalized content and/or messaging. It does mean more up front work with content creation (accounting for all the variables), and more time for development/planning/scheduling.
I don’t know that I’ve seen great examples of all the pieces working together yet, outside of lab environments.
