“How differently are you approaching your business, and what advice have you given to your clients, during this pandemic?”
With what is happening in our world today, there is no doubt in my mind that the approach to communicating to audiences, whether its employees or customers, has changed. Now more than ever, it’s important to understand communication strategies, the communication format, the device type and the most successful ways to use them all. People are now working remotely; digital signage is no longer something that they will come across in their daily routine. Displays located in hallways, break rooms, etc. are no longer the scenario. How do you reach your audiences now? This has been a struggle during this pandemic. Emails can be easily ignored, and even more so if they are text heavy.
So how can I reach my audience in the best way possible? There are several options. Digital signage can utilize the strengths of Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams and even your computer’s screen saver. When a user steps away from their PC/Mac/laptop, a screen saver can show a playlist of items. Notifications can run in a small window on your desktop showing a playlist of important company messaging that the user can either watch as it automatically plays, or they can manually click through the playlist. The best method, in my opinion, to reach your audience and to keep them up-to-date and engaged is with branded mobile applications. These can alert users with notifications as well as have top stories with which users can interact to gather more information or to make a comment. There is one running theme to all these approaches, and that is the behavior and habits of the user needs to change. To be well informed, they will need to be aware of these locations for information.
