The pandemic has definitely raised the priority of quickly updating content on digital signs, which is the primary benefit of digital signage. The pandemic has caused our content workflow and approval processes to be expedited and has raised the importance of effective messaging. As is consistently stated, content is the most important component of digital signage. As a transit agency trying to manage through ever-changing conditions across the system, content needed to be quickly produced and deployed to describe the latest conditions. Our designers have been challenged to communicate messages that have never been anticipated before using creative visuals, images, and minimal words to be easily understood at a quick glance.
During this pandemic, it has been important to update the screens with the latest information and instructions, which has brought better efficiency in producing content as well as the approval process. This is a great, lasting change that will continue well into the future.
