“What do you see changing in the digital signage space during this pandemic that might positively or negatively impact your workflow?”
As we reopen our facility, the primary focus is on the safety of our guests as well as our staff. The number-one priority of our digital signage network is to educate our guests about social distancing, proper hand washing, wearing a mask and using the hand sanitizers throughout the facility. Georgia Aquarium is a highly engaging venue where we encourage guests to achieve the most during their visit through interactions. Part of the engagement includes touchscreen kiosks that would normally be used for animal and habitat information. In light of this pandemic, we are taking several protective measures by encouraging our guests to download our app for a personal interactive experience. Some of our kiosks will be programmed in a passive state where animal information automatically changes without the need for touch. These interactions will be labeled “view only” in an effort to communicate to guests that they should watch, but not touch.
Our workflow will not change much. We will have a heightened emphasis on making sure we reinforce all the COVID-19 protective measures previously mentioned. Like other facilities, we will be slowly ramping up our attendance so that guests and staff feel safe. Our digital signage network messaging is just one part of our facility-wide response to ensuring that safety.
