The short answer is yes. The long answer is that it depends on several factors as to whether you can or even should. There are a few things you should consider when thinking of selling ads for your internal network.
- Sales Team – Depending upon your business model and the size of your in-house network, you will have to establish a sales team to bring the business in.
- Ad standards – You will need to define what companies your sales teams will need to avoid because of type of product and/or services provided. For example, you don’t want to sale ad space to a beer company if your business’ demographic is kids.
- Value – Does your DS network have enough “viewers” to make it worthwhile for those companies who might consider advertising?
Bottom line, each situation is unique. What works for one business does not fit the needs of another. Do your research and make sure it’s the right fit for your business.
