“Could an in-home digital network have ads or is that sacred territory?”

If the value proposition is strong enough to the consumer, anything is possible. For example, we already see ads on digital networks used in airports and flights, where you can get free Wi-Fi if you are willing to watch an ad. It’s the same with streaming content on YouTube, where you are required to watch an ad in order to stream free content to your device. It’s not hard to see a future where in-home Wi-Fi would be free if you watched x-number of commercials on your screens for the duration of your streaming.  As long as the cost outweighs the perceived value of the service, then including ads on in-home digital networks will never be a sacred territory.
