“What are three things you believe will be dramatically different in the digital signage market five years from now?”
Over the next few years, digital signage will change in a variety of ways including new screen shapes, more sophisticated touchscreens and richer sign analytics.
Screens and pixel panels are improving to support new shapes, curvatures and sizes. For example, you could see a large half-moon screen that can be used outdoors and also supports transparent imagery.
Touchscreens will expand support beyond today’s limited rectangular shapes. For example, you will be able to use touch on curved and non-rectangular shapes, maybe even spanning many screens or pixel panels.
Signage analytics and reporting will likely improve in features and tools. For example, retailers will know what buttons on interactive kiosks were almost touched, or how many walking shoppers took pause, but didn’t interact with the kiosk.
So in five years, your business may be able to utilize new interactive content that spans a multitude of uniquely shaped screens while utilizing a wide range of input with an impressive feedback system that allows your business to maximize performance … maybe even automatically.
