“What are three things you believe will be dramatically different in the digital signage market five years from now?”
The three things that I believe will be dramatically different in the digital signage market in five years include the following:
- I expect most, if not all content will consist of video and animations rather than static messaging. This will apply to all screen sizes and applications.
- Display panels such as LCD, LED and OLED will continue to evolve, continuing to create and enhance an even better picture quality.
- The ability for digital content to be more interactive should see significant growth. It will be more common for marketers and content managers to find creative ways to engage fans and potential customers. Some of these currently include use of motion sensors to detect when someone walks by, signage that changes the message based on external factors like the weather, and of course the ability to incorporate facial and voice recognition. These areas should all see technological advances over the next five years.
