“What technology will replace Quick Response (QR) codes in the future?”

For the foreseeable future, I don’t see QR codes being replaced. They are still versatile and serve their purpose. I could see reverse image searching being used, but it does not provide the same user experience. Reverse image searching is only available through proprietary sites (i.e., Google, Bing, TinEye, etc.). Those searches will show sites that contain the image, which may lead the searcher to an unexpected location, if the image is common.
