“What tools/programs are you currently using for content development?”

Since we are not network owner/operators, our digital signage service offering is focused on content and program strategy, as well as full content creation and production. It is rare for us to utilize content creation tools found within a vendor CMS, not that we haven’t done so or won’t ever again. 

In fact, more and more DOOH or digital retail experiences demand various layers and categories of content. Grand immersive pieces or interactive pieces combined with more message and CTA driven spots will make for a better content program (this of course is all based on a number of factors from audience to environment to content and business objectives etc.).

Some of these are, in fact, better achieved through a simple or templated approach. This is mostly to meet the demand of content localization, which in turn, adds more relevance and context for the audience or meets the high-volume content demands of mass content or item-driven content. We know where this kind of content is going ultimately – an automated content solution tied to various data points, working in conjunction with more specialized content programs.

That said – here are a few tools we find useful:

As to what platforms I employ to assist in the development of content strategy, it is entirely dependent on the parameters of the project and the customer’s requests.
