You need to provide employees with an easy avenue to submit content for approval and then develop a reminder system to generate ideas. Everyone gets busy and that great idea slips away fast. Blog and email reminders work wonders for employees and facilitators. Remind them that this avenue is open for them and share what works and what doesn’t! Everyone likes to see their name or photo on the screen, so make it easy to deliver this (mobile and desktop options) and a healthy way to have it reviewed ahead of time (SharePoint or logs work great). While employee-generated content is great, it needs to be reviewed so that the messaging and branding reflects company values; selling your house isn’t the right criteria for us versus a hackathon event. Don’t overcomplicate the process, but make sure there are safeguards too. Running reminders on the displays and off the displays is critical too! Make sure owners of the space know who runs the displays, and put notifications up on the display too. Nothing wrong with ‘Go digital, contact XYZ@email.com!’ or an NFC/RFID beacon to assist if they are tech savvy! Do it right and you won’t have to beg for content. Good luck!
