I don’t believe it is really all that complex. As employees gain greater visibility of the content being features on displays, they will naturally start to have additional content ideas. The key is to open the communication lines for them to express those ideas. I have seen communications teams or committees work well in the past. Perhaps an email address where suggestions can be submitted might be a good way to encourage participation, especially for employee-facing content. As employees get used to participating in content sharing, the ideas and suggestions will start flowing more easily. The same can be true for public-facing content as employees at all levels are encouraged to participate in the communication campaigns. Front-line employees know best what questions are frequently being asked and may be good items for inclusion in a proactive digital display campaign.
