“Which market segment is the one that is totally saturated with digital signage five years from now? (Is there a market where the gold rush is over and every new opportunity has been already taken?)”
If we look at the digital signage landscape as it currently stands, the one sector that will be saturated with digital signage in five years will be retail. It seems to be the most active industry in digital signage right now, and as participation continues to grow and expand through more adoption, it will be a totally saturated market very soon. Retail is a competitive market segment that uses digital signage for advertising (think dollars) to market and promote services and products. Therefore, retail is on the forefront of adoption – and due to the fact that it is a more straightforward ROI (than an industry like let’s say education where it’s hard to tell impact/reach/engagement), it will be very saturated in five years.
