“Does gesture control really have a place in digital signage, or is it a flash-in-the-pan trend?”

The gesture control market is mainly driven by growth with smartphones, smart TV, smart wearables, etc. Equally, gesture control technology is combining with virtual reality and augmented reality technologies. This should help push the growth of gesture technology to an expanded level of acceptance.

Gesture control has great possibilities in healthcare and the automotive industries, which will help contribute to the growth of the gesture control market. Gesture control is used in museums, science centers, amusement parks, trade shows, retail outlets, bars and nightclubs, corporate showrooms, and at airports and stadiums. It could just be that the “Wave of the hand” becomes the big “Wave of the future” in the digital signage environment.
