“Does gesture control really have a place in digital signage, or is it a flash-in-the-pan trend?”

Of course gesture control for digital signage has a future, and of course it’s a flash-in-the pan! Was Nintendo Wii the future or a flash-in-the-pan? I would say it was a little of both. It was wildly popular at first, but it had limited application in video gaming, and the novelty soon wore off. Yet, look where this tech has evolved since the Wii. From wayfinding, dressing room simulations and VR to restaurant menu item selecting, disability access and healthcare surgical rooms, gesture control for digital signage is here to stay, but it’s mostly a matter of finding the right applications for it.
