Ask the Board – March 9, 2020 | JASON STUEHMER

“Does gesture control really have a place in digital signage, or is it a flash-in-the-pan trend?”

Gesture control in digital signage is an interesting topic. The examples I have seen have primarily been demonstrations and not deployed into the real world. In thinking about the highest-level objectives of digital signage, they are to engage the audience with information they need at that place and time. Gesture control can add to the experience of the audience, but I don’t believe it is something to be widely adopted for the majority of digital signs; it seems to be more of a specialty engagement rather than a standard.
