“Does gesture control really have a place in digital signage, or is it a flash-in-the-pan trend?”

Interactivity with signage will become a larger and larger component of signage, and therefore, it should be explored and adopted, though on a smaller scale. On a broader scale, we see the implementation of gesture control in gaming consoles such as the Xbox 360 (Kinect). On a smaller scale, we have seen pop-up signage experiences across the globe implement gesture control, but the technology and the use scale is still in its early stages. As the use cases and technology matures, I can see the widespread adoption of gesture control making a permanent home in this space.
