“Does gesture control really have a place in digital signage, or is it a flash-in-the-pan trend?”

Gesture control may have a place in digital signage in the future, but for now, it is more of a gimmick. Most transactions that take place on an interactive display currently require typing or other controls that are more detailed and easier to perform on a touchscreen than with gesture control. I see the industry completely bypassing gesture control and moving quickly to AI and voice recognition as the next generation of interactive controls.
