“What advice would you give a college student that’s about to enter the industry arena?”
For any college student that may be entering the digital signage industry as an end user, I would highly recommend they educate themselves on the capabilities (both emerging and “run of the mill”) and the best-in-class use cases for their purposes. “Field Trips” to concept stores where emerging signage technology is prevalent is a great way to trigger the imagination and see what is possible. Look at what your competitors are doing. What’s working and what’s not? Interview people who are using the technology and get learnings. Most people are more than happy to share what they have learned and where the opportunities are. These are great ways to build up your know-how and understanding of this rapidly changing industry.
