“How has the role of IT engineering changed in the past three years of AV Integration?”

IT engineers are employed in many different industries to create, install or troubleshoot technology and software programs. In this ever-evolving world of technology, this is a position that requires someone who can adjust to the changing trends and approaches to AV. In the last three years, we have seen several different booms in every aspect of AV, and this affects IT bandwidth issues, security, network and power shortcomings, product management, software requirements, hardware limitations, etc.

IT engineers apply their technical knowledge to solve a variety of technological challenges such as the ones listed above. In a sense, it’s a juggling act as the demands of AV will always be present and future requirements will have the IT engineer in a constant state of urgency in getting areas up to speed to meet those demands. At AVI-SPL, we offer several levels of service that ultimately set a roadmap for existing and future solutions. Those services include: Needs Assessments, Benchmarking, Systems Design and Engineering, Implementation Services and Service Management to assist in mitigating some of the burden and chaos that the IT Engineer faces daily.

These solutions give the IT engineer options for assistance in getting their AV infrastructure up to speed to meet current demands. This enables them to meet their employer’s needs for computer hardware, software and networking tools. It also helps them create proper documentation, diagrams and other detailed instructions to help other employees make the best use of new technologies.
