Ask the Board – May 18, 2020 | FRANK COCCARO

“What is your opinion on using traditional video wall panels vs. tight-pitch LEDs?”

Higher-resolution LED is quickly catching up to LCD in attractiveness due to a reduction in the cost of manufacturing. The two best options for a video wall are direct-view (DV) LED displays and ultra-narrow bezel LCDs. Before determining which one works best for your video wall, one should understand the technologies and costs associated with each.

LED is an extremely proficient application for high-impact visuals, but it’s not the only one. LCD screens are also used in large video displays and, depending on the circumstance, they may be the better option.

Deciding on the LED vs. LCD situation can be complex, and one should do across-the-board research and compare all the pros and cons of both as well as which option will work in the environment you’re looking at installing a large video wall.
