“What are some of the most effective ways to utilize smaller surfaces for signage or projection?”
Small surfaces are great for intimate and up-close interactions. Tablets at dining tables, airports, food truck menus, portable tabletop tent replacements and room placards are a few appropriate examples. In these situations, the content is uniquely driven to a specific audience and pre-defined. Small digital displays make sense for retail pricing signage or small experiences catered to one person or group. Usually, these are low-power, low-overhead hardware configurations with easy-to-low maintenance updates. I’ve seen a few videos play at gas stations or taxis, but rarely effectively and with full quality. More effective scenarios were at airports, retail pricing or bus stops; mostly where text and live data was involved.
