“What are some of the most effective ways to utilize smaller surfaces for signage or projection?”

As displays steadfastly become larger and more prevalent, we often forget how effective small, appropriately placed digital signage can be.

Shelf displays or “Shelf Talkers,” a once-printed addition to retail displays, is now a digital technology of which the industry has only scratched the surface. These are tiny, mostly LCD displays (4.3 inches to 7 inches) that display custom video content at the point of sale.  Since most purchases occur at the point of sale, this proves to be a very powerful tool to entice clients to consider the merchandise.  Because the display is Wi-Fi ready, immediate price adjustments can be made, unique quick store updates can be adjusted as inventory moves and marketing campaigns can be launched at any time. Additionally, the displays reduce the use of paper and refuse, reducing the business’ carbon footprint.  Furthermore, these tiny displays can be moved and rearranged at a moment’s notice and with very little interference to daily operations. Lastly, real-time analytics and location-based data will provide businesses a useful weapon in predicting future sales.

The advertising industry has once again proven that limited space is not an obstacle but an opportunity for brand messaging.
