“What are some of the most effective ways to utilize smaller surfaces for signage or projection?”


Smaller surfaces and signage can present some interesting opportunities to connect with consumers. Smaller space can make the message feel more intimate or personal, where the viewer can engage more closely. If the display can be interactive or personalized via beacon-type recognition, the display could present a true one-to-one experience. A smaller space or display could also be leveraged and viewed as an accent to other signage in the space. In restaurant spaces, small signs can serve in a functional (order status) or promotional role (today’s special). The main thing is to develop the strategy and roadmap of the overall signage execution and plan for whether there is a use or a need to message in smaller spaces. Then develop the content plan to best leverage the space and engage the consumer, designing for the size and use. When executed with planning, a smaller space can have a big impact.
