“What was your biggest takeaway from DSE 2018?”
While the exhibitions were excellent and provided a great number of ideas, the best part of the show for me this year was the educational seminars. The caliber of speakers was very high, with national experts presenting a variety of topics. One New York City ad agency executive showed us example after example of amazing digital content for his customers, used for both external and internal communication. Design, animation, concepts, copywriting — all provided one wow after another.
A renowned video producer showed a room full of eager note-takers how to use smartphone cameras with some inexpensive accessories to take professional quality videos. I went home and bought all the accessories to share with the team!
And an early-career marketing communications manager impressed her audience with an excellent strategy on internal digital signage with measurement, planning tools and templates. Any corporate communications person could use this as a perfect example of how to succeed in proposing, implementing and assessing a company signage system.
It’s hard to get away from the demands of the office for any show, but DSE is worth it for me, year after year.
