“What was your biggest takeaway from DSE 2018?”
In addition to a large helping of the latest and greatest technologies, and the presence of those who drive this industry, the thematic takeaway for me was the increased focus on data and analytics.
There are more and more options to collect data about those who see or consume digital signage/experiences (camera tracking, sensors, geo-locating technology), and more back-end systems to parse and analyze the data so that network operators, end users, agencies and brands can ultimately make more informed decisions about content strategies.
The pieces have existed for a while now, but there haven’t been a lot of options for total or integrated solutions. We are starting to turn that corner.
