Ask the Board – November 26, 2018 | JONATHAN BRAWN

“What are the pros and cons of live meetings via digital screens versus live presentations? Does the cost benefit exceed the personal benefit?”

Presuming the question refers to virtual (video conferencing) meetings v. in-person meetings, I think, with the ubiquity of video communications today, the benefits of being able to stay in a single location and meet with multiple people over a large geographic area quite outweighs the benefits of in-person. When camera technology wasn’t as good, and the usage of these technologies was much more complicated, it was easier and better to meet in person. Now, with the way high-quality cameras are built into our cell phones, we can be much more efficient using virtual meetings. I do this with nearly all my clients, only actually traveling for the most critical events and trade shows.
