“What was your biggest takeaway from DSE 2018?”
This is an easy one for me this month. My biggest takeaway is that the industry may be maturing, but it still has room to grow. The buzz on the floor was good, but we are still seeing a ton of new first-timers hitting the show. New projects seem larger and more common, and signage is becoming an accepted practice, a standard. More and more companies are simply accepting that they need to do it, which is good for all of us. Products and strategies are getting more mature, but the one thing I still know is that planning is still lacking, especially around content. However, that creates the opportunity that is going to continue to drive the industry (and the show!) we all know and love onward and upward.
