“What are effective cost-reduction strategies that can be employed with digital signage to keep your capital investment and maintenance low?”

We found that the Chromebox product drives our signage in a cost-effective way. These boxes have proven themselves to be bulletproof in terms of security, privacy, maintenance, self-cleaning and stability. The fact that the hardware changes every five years, however, is a capital consideration. We’re not looking forward to changing these boxes out every five years, but our experience has shown that our location staff can easily handle the task (rather than hiring outside contractors).

In terms of content development for employee break rooms, we have found that promoting communities was a great cost-reduction strategy. We established a Google slide library that allowed for the uploading and downloading of content slides that all locations could share. We scream (confidently and hopefully): “GONE are the days!” of a location creating a set of slides describing our Code of Ethics, while their sister location redundantly does the same.
