Christie Medical Holdings, the global leader in near infrared vein finder technology, will be showcasing the VeinViewer® system at the AONE (American Organization of Nurse Executives) 2016 Annual Meeting, from March 31-April 2, in Fort Worth, Texas. Nurse leaders attending AONE 2016 will see demonstrations of the VeinViewer technology and the impact to IV insertion and patient satisfaction at the Christie exhibit hall booth, # 645, with Christie staff on hand to answer questions.
VeinViewer can help nurses improve the patient experience by reducing the number of stick attempts and the time taken to start an IV, reducing pain and anxiety. VeinViewer technology uses near infrared (NIR) light to create a real-time digital image of a patient’s veins on the skin, allowing nurses to see peripheral veins up to 10mm deep, while also locating valves and bifurcations. The 2016 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice recognizes vein visualization as a standard of care because of the impact NIR imaging has in making a more informed decision regarding IV access. In post-assessment procedures, nurses can assess the patency of the vessel to help avoid complications.
“Christie VeinViewer technology allows nurses to provide a high level of care to patients,” says George Pinho, president, Christie Medical Holdings, Inc. “VeinViewer is the only device of its kind clinically proven to positively impact patient satisfaction and quality of care through improved PIV access.”
VeinViewer is the only device NIR vein illuminator rated for use in multiple environments, including hospitals, out-patient care facilities, homes and schools.
